LO-GO Appointments QLD is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) professionals interested in opportunities within Local Government.
Throughout the year, our clients across Queensland seek experienced WHS professionals for a range of temporary, contract and permanent positions, particularly within regional and rural councils.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Significant experience working as a WHS professional.
- Previous Local Government experience is essential.
- Proven ability to promote and drive a positive, proactive safety culture across an organisation.
- Experience managing hazards, near misses, accidents and rehabilitation programs.
- Ability to deliver WHS training, including staff inductions and verification of competency programs.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills, particularly within complex working environments.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to be based on-site in a regional area of Queensland for the full duration of the assignment.
Assignment Benefits and Conditions:
- Hourly rates are negotiable, depending on experience and the requirements of the role.
- Travel expenses will be compensated at the beginning and end of the assignment.
- Accommodation will be provided for the full duration of the assignment.
