Our Mission

We exist for Horse Racing, our Members and our place within the Community.

The Club strives to encourage, support and grow Horse Racing.

The support and growth of Horse Racing is considered to extend beyond a narrow definition of what is just best for the MRC and the Club will work with RVL to support Industry benefit from strategy related but not limited to race programming, training, track quality, infrastructure and stakes.

The Club’s Mission is to also provide Members with the best Horse Racing experience in a racing product sense as well as in terms of facilities, service excellence and ancillary benefits.

Over time the expectation of Members is evolving to consider the Club to be a potential “Hub” for benefits that reach beyond just race days, and the Club’s Mission will embrace this more expansive definition.

The Club is “owned” by and accountable to Members who are involved not for financial investment or income stream generation reasons.

Accordingly ongoing financial stability and prudence are key Mission considerations when considering strategic actions.
With two of our land assets the Crown and Community are key stakeholders, and with our third we hold a key strategic physical and social presence.

The Club has also embarked on a strategy to expand its gaming and Hotel footprint for re-investment in our core purpose. In a Community sense therefore the Club’s Mission is to be a Community leader in sporting, leisure and gaming related activities, as well as proactively working with the Community and Crown to recognise the Club’s obligations and to grow beneficial relations with the Community.

Our Vision

To establish a product and facility offering such that our Members and the general public engage in and benefit from a unique and rewarding value experience.

In a racing sense this will mean creating an environment that welcomes and rewards guests at our facilities whether they are Members or from the general community.

The on course Vision of the Club is therefore by 2015 to be rated by Members and Public alike as the “best” Club in the Country across a range of criteria including facilities, racing product, entertainment, value, diversity and benefits.
Specifically this will be assessed in terms of brand and venue positioning, Member benefits, Member experience, Public benefit and service, ancillary service benefits and Racing product in stakes, feature positioning and innovation in programming.
At Caulfield this will be expanded to include the relationship with the Community through joint participation in the aesthetics and utility of the Grounds and Infield.

In a non racing sense we will develop diversified income streams to re-invest in our core Vision that are based on identified areas of core commercial expertise and asset / resource capability. A key element of this will be to build on Pegasus Leisure Group in a measured growth strategy.
