AECOM is looking for its next Team Lead to manage our Water Infrastructure professionals and grow a profitable business within the Victoria/South Australia/Tasmania (VSAT) water market sector. Reporting to the Director – Water (VSA) you will identify opportunities, deliver strategic and successful proposal compilations, while aiming to win commissions and ensure the profitable delivery of projects.

As the Water Infrastructure Team Lead you will be responsible for designing the team structure (capability and capacity), establishing roles and ensuring that the team and the wider Water and Asset Management Team achieve their goals. A key focus will be on providing and facilitating technical leadership through leading by example, mentoring and ensuring appropriate training and support from Technical Practice Leads to enable team members to realise their full potential.

About the role

  • Creating high performing, motivated and engaged teams via Performance Planning, Performance Management, appropriate Reward and Recognition, learning and development opportunities.

  • Management of the delivery of the team’s operations and functions by ensuring adherence to process guidelines, work practices and standards.

  • Developing and maintaining work pipeline and working with our Market Leaders in opportunity pursuit.

  • Responsibility for financial performance of the team by managing, monitoring and forecasting all financial indicators i.e. budget, revenue generation, utilisation levels and contribution margins.

  • The ability to win profitable work and understand and direct the effort involved in delivering this work. Able to manage budget and resources to deliver to plan and client requirements.

  • Responsibility for delivery of individual projects to a client. This involves project management, technical quality, budget and programme.

Minimum Requirements

About you:

  • Experience in successfully leading teams.

  • Successful track record in field of expertise and substantial project experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements.

  • Commercial acumen, strong business analysis skills and the ability to interpret and understand complex financial systems and reports.

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying new innovative business development opportunities and turning this into wins.

  • Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external, client-facing level, developing new client relationships and maintaining existing networks within the business.

  • Recently published or presented paper(s) in a relevant technical area would be highly regarded.

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification.
