About the Role

We’re looking for a Vineyard Operator to join the team in our stunning, cool-climate vineyard in Whitlands, north-eastern Victoria. As part of the team, you’ll receive training to develop your skills and perform diverse hands-on tasks in the daily development and upkeep of our vineyard.

In this position, you will be expected to perform:

  • tractor operations such as vine and weed spraying, sweeping, canopy trimming, leaf plucking, mowing, mulching, cultivating, and harvesting.
  • canopy management, pruning and vine training
  • irrigation management; service and maintenance of system
  • accountability to follow best practice procedures
  • supervision of contract vineyard labour and company casual vineyard staff when required
  • contributing to the quality and safety culture of Domaine Chandon

Requirements

In order to be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Permanent Australian Work Rights (Citizen or PR)
  • Experience in, or a genuine enthusiasm for wine and viticulture
  • Previous experience driving tractors, or horticulture/viticulture is desirable.
  • Motivation, flexibility and an eagerness to learn
  • Sound communication and team work skills
  • The ability to work overtime subject to seasonal requirements
  • A strong understanding of work health and safety procedures
  • Car license is essential
  • Forklift license, chemical use certificate or first aid certificate is advantageous
