DXC Consulting is looking for multiple experienced Telecom Engineers WA based to oversee mining oil and gas projects / products under limited direction. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be highly organised, dynamic, outcome-oriented individuals with excellent delivery management skills.
What you will be doing
As a DXC Telecommunications Project Engineer, you will be responsible for helping mining oil and gas clients maintain and upgrade their modern infrastructure environments. You will take on small- and large-scale projects across various organisations within the private and public sectors, becoming exposed to an array of different business groups, stakeholders, and projects.
What will keep you busy
In more specific terms, you will:
Provide technical specialist advice on the communications infrastructure required for a successful telecommunications Project delivery, mainly private LTE network.
Responsible for comms project delivery tasks such as resolve complex technical communication infrastructure issues experienced on-site
Design, commission, review and/or approve the hardware communications infrastructure that supports LTE network RF and IP equipment.
Make sure the compliance of industry wide infrastructure telecommunications standards · Review/approve the design documents for semi-portable towers, RBS, skids / shelters, comms-room, trailers, VMR and microwave links. Assist in the evaluation, selection and procurement of the same.
Enable the enforcement of the most suitable solution implementation during design phase as well as execution phase of the private LTE project
An overarching commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
Considerable number of on-site visits during rollout/execution phase of the project
Vendor management, stakeholder engagement throughout the course of the project.
Review, witness of various acceptance tests documents and actual testing such as Factory acceptance in designated lab environment as well as Site acceptance on site.
What you will bring to the role:
A minimum of 5 years experience as a Telecom Engineer in mining or oil and gas.
Proven experience delivering comms projects (LTE projects highly regarded) which require a thorough understanding of the design, configuration, installation, and commissioning of communications infrastructure
In-depth demonstrable technical knowledge and experience with infrastructure and implementation that supports LTE/4G technologies and village entertainment systems requirements.
In depth knowledge of wireless, networks and infrastructure technologies and their industry application in a large-scale enterprise environment
Proven experience estimating communications projects from principles
Thorough understanding of established HSEQ systems and principles
