Our Melbourne-based Building Services team are currently looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our multidisciplinary and diverse project delivery in Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Aviation and Defence market sectors.
The role is ideal for professionals with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for the next step in their Building Services career and have an interest in developing detailed design solutions while being responsible for the delivery of a range of exciting fire protection engineering projects.
The person appointed will be responsible for the technical, on time and on budget delivery of these projects.
Provide fire protection engineering design for wet, dry and specialist fire systems.
Carry out general engineering duties to ensure quality and systems/process requirements are achieved.
Undertake site inspections and prepare reports for our major clients.
Proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Be an active member of the Building engineering team and contribute to the team's success.
Guide and mentor junior engineers, designers and graduates.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the fire protection engineering field within an Engineering Consultancy environment;
Experience in preparing technical design documentation;
Proficiency with industry standard software (such as; Hyena, MS Office, AutoCAD);
Ability to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of outputs proactively and independently;
Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines;
Desire to work in a team of like-minded professionals;
Exceptional levels of written and oral communication;
RBP accredited, highly desirable.
Bachelor’s in engineering Discipline;
CPEng or working towards CPEng, highly desirable;
Prior experience/understanding of CAD/Revit, highly advantageous but not essential.
