You will be responsible for the provision of Specialist Clinical or Health Psychology Services to clients with a brain injury to maximise their potential to achieve optimum independence and quality of life. Maintaining a complex caseload, you will provide appropriate interventions to clients and complete all clinical records in an accurate and timely manner. This will require involvement with clients and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds and beliefs in a team setting. You will also plan and contribute to team discharge planning with clients and their families, and liaise with external agencies as required. This role includes educational duties, as well as the provision of clinical support and training of Clinical Psychology undergraduate students. You will be expected to provide effective clinical services to clients with complex conditions efficiently and with limited supervision. In addition, you will assist the Principal Clinician Psychology by representing the discipline in service development as requested.
You must hold an appropriate degree (Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology) or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), and have general registration with the PsyBA and be endorsed in Clinical and/or Health Psychology area of practice. For appointment at AHP3 level, you must hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision
Your qualifications will be supported by your experience with adult neurological rehabilitation and evaluation of clinical practice. Demonstrating advanced skills in the management of individuals with an Acquired Brain Injury or neurological condition, you will have the ability to relate and communicate well with clients, families, significant others and all levels of staff.
