An opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist to join the chemistry section of an analytical laboratory

Your new company
You will be working for a government agency who are responsible for the assessment and monitoring of medicines and medical devices.

Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analytical Chemist to join the Chemistry section of the Laboratories branch. You will be working on testing medicines and medical devices to ensure their compliance with regulatory and technical standards. You will be carrying out physical and chemical testing of medicines using a variety of analytical techniques including HPLC, LC-MS, and GC-MS.

Other duties of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Forensic testing of complaint samples
  • Help co-ordinate laboratory projects
  • Assist in developing and validating analytical methods
  • Prepare reports on the analytical testing of products
  • Help maintain the laboratory quality management system

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Extensive experience in analytical chemistry for medicinal or medical device based products
  • Experience working In a highly regulated environment
  • Expert knowledge with UPLC/HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS and UV-Vis
  • A degree in Chemistry or related analytical discipline
  • Hold Australian Permanent Residency
