Full job description

Chandler Macleod is working with a Federal Government Department to recruit a Planner (Remote) for an initial 12-month contract. This is a unique opportunity to utilise your motivational skills to help others affected by disability change their lives for the better.

An experienced Planner is sought for Disability focused organisation, go to work to make a difference every day!

  • $45.74 per hour
  • Location: Darwin
  • 12 month contract, possibility of extension

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

The APS5 Remote Planner will undertake planning activities and tasks. You will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports and contributes to objectives

The position will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Working with service providers and participants to gather and verify relevant information to facilitate access, plan development, ensure successful plan implementation and maintain community supports.
  • Developing outcome based plans reflecting participant choice and control within a reasonable and necessary framework.
  • Undertaking reviews of plans with participants, delivering and approving plans to meet targets.
  • Building participant capacity to maintain effective networks by liaising with individuals, families/carers and their communities to improve natural and community supports.
  • Providing information to members of the community, mainstream services and community supports to improve participation and inclusion.
  • (NOTE: the key responsibilities of the role are based on current priorities and may change over time)

Required

  • Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse information and make decisions
  • Good judgment and decision making within delegated limits in relation to accountability of funds and interactions with individuals and communities
  • Previous experience in a Government department or disability organsiation
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • A warm, professional demeanor
  • It is highly desirable that applicants have an understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability.
  • As this is a Federal Government organisation, you must be an Australian Citizen
