You will provide a quality, comprehensive, efficient, cost effective and complex range of professional, dispensing, clinical, production and counselling services. You will strive to optimise drug therapy for inpatients and outpatients and contribute to overall medication management. As a Pharmacist, you will also provide drug and therapeutic advice to medical, nursing and other professionals involved in patient care in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, SA Health guidelines, and State and Federal legislation. You will be expected to participate as a member of a team of professional and non-professional staff to deliver optimal medication management services. Where required, you may support the sterile and non-sterile production service, ensuring compliance with the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice and Society of Hospital Pharmacists Guidelines. As part of your role, you will contribute to the education of other Pharmacists, pre-registrant Pharmacists and students.
You will need to hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy or an equivalent qualification, and be registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia. Having completed pre-registration training in a hospital or community training program, you will demonstrate sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacy production, drug dispensing, provision of medicines information, patient counselling and general dispensary and pharmacy procedures. You will possess good technical/manipulative skills and good organisation skills, along with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Your sound written and verbal communication skills will equip you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting.
Please note: It is anticipated that approximately 5 rounds of candidate pool interviews will be conducted throughout the year during the following months: October - November; February - March; May - June; July; and September.
