Role Type: Part time positions available

Job Title: Midwife / Child Health Nurse

Proposed Commencement Date: 01/04/2019

Town Information: Remote Indigenous communities throughout Cape York.

Practice information: Primary Health Care Clinical setting

After Hours requirements : Nil

Salary is based on ($104,604.00) full time hours, and therefore would be prorated depending on the part time hours.

Come work for Apunipima Cape York Health Council (ACYHC) and engage in an exciting opportunity to contribute positive health outcomes for the people of the Cape York region, as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, providing a diverse range of clinic and community-based services.

ACYHC is one of Australia's leading Aboriginal Community Controlled health services, delivering a broad spectrum of comprehensive primary healthcare services to 11 traditional communities of Cape York, in a culturally appropriate manner.

These positions will provide direct and comprehensive child health and midwifery services as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering comprehensive primary health care services consistent with the Apunipima Way and Model of Care, to maximise health outcomes for the people of Cape York.

The successful candidates will be a dual registration as a Registered Nurse and Midwife with AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board - essential.

A Qualification in

Child Health, IBCLC accreditation, PAP smear accreditation, Immunisation Endorsement, ultrasound and midwifery eligibility is desirable.

Demonstrated competence in clinical and problem-solving skills at an advanced level with the ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate increasingly complex client care across the maternal and child health continuum and a high level knowledge and experience in delivery of evidence based clinical and health promotional activities to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their partners and families during antenatal parenting period in community based settings.
