Originating in 1968, this company began as a humble 12-hectare farm on the outskirts of the town of Koo Wee Rup, some 75km south east of Melbourne. Operating as a private, wholly-owned and operated family business, they specialise in the growth of large-scale fresh produce.

Over the last 40 years, the owners have progressively purchased more land, now with multiple farms throughout Koo Wee Rup, Dalmore, Nar Nar Goon, Bayles and Iona.

Supplying produce across Australia and exporting internationally to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea, this company is also GLOBAL G.A.P. and HARPS certified.


The Operations Manager will, in a hands-on capacity, lead, inspire and manage the field team to ensure the effective operation of the farms, and to optimise yield in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Working closely with the Management team and reporting to the Operations Director, the Operations Manager will develop and implement the overall production plan for the farming operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day farming operations including maintaining paddock records, field rotations, sowing, planting and harvest, and identification of pest and disease
  • Develop the annual production plan and providing the management team with monthly updates
  • Oversee stock management and procurement of consumables for the farm e.g. chemicals, fertilisers
  • Ensure the optimal functioning of farm equipment and machinery
  • Assist the packing shed manager with day-to-day packing plans
  • Maintain constant communication with the packing shed and the sales team to maximise the product value and meet consumer demands
  • Assist with the recruitment, development, performance management and termination of staff

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in leadership role managing staff
  • Minimum of 10 years fresh produce industry experience
  • Previous experience in financial management, maintaining budgets, monthly reporting and maintaining records
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and HACCP
  • A high standard of computer literacy, including farm management and Microsoft Suite software


  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture or farm management (advantageous)
  • ChemCert accreditation
