Job Expectations

WORK ON THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY WHILE BEING PART OF A DYNAMIC AND EXCEPTIONAL CULTURE!

Open to the location: Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, or Perth

Must hold Permanent Resident or Australian Citizenship

NBN has been established to assist the Australian Government in ensuring all homes and businesses in Australia have access to fast broadband. NBN designs build and operate a wholesale-only national broadband network for Australia including a mix of broadband technologies.

A bit about your role

As an Operations Lead, you will have overall ownership of multiple IT platforms running in the production environment. The role will involve directing and governing a technical Support and Maintenance team with the purpose of ensuring high availability and enhancing the overall operational excellence. This includes participating in initiatives that uplift the reliability of the IT platforms which in turn will ultimately benefit our customers.

You will be responsible for the Vendor management and will coordinate with the internal teams, delivering specific scope under the AS&M program.

The role will require a strong technical understanding of the features and functions available in the IT platforms and an insight into the users and stakeholders that rely on the platform to fulfill their duties at NBN. The governance role here is also important because planned changes, capacity plans, major incidents and problems need to be tracked closely to ensure that NBN policies and procedures are adhered to.

Each IT platform will also have a long-term roadmap, and this will need careful consideration that will involve risk assessments, technical discussions with developers and finally reviews with architects and senior managers.

This is a challenging Operational leadership role offering significant career advancement opportunities.

A bit about you

Coming from a Development and Operational Support background in OSS/BSS while having excellent functional knowledge and Incident/Problem Triage, Restoration and Resolution experience in managing and concluding major incidents and cloud-based vendors.

Having a good functional understanding of Oracle database and Oracle Golden Gate technologies, not necessarily hands-on, with a good understanding of Agile methodologies and tools.

Enjoying and being passionate about continuous learning and looking at governance and compliance.

AWS application migration experience with an AWS architecture certification to complement your experience would be good to have, but not mandatory.

Having had exposure to other database technologies like SQL/PSQL would be advantageous.

The role would require you to work on a flexible “on-call” basis.
