National Logistics Manager * Job Type:Full time * Category:Logistics/Transport * Business Group:Iplex NZ * Location:Palmerston North * Job Reference:IPL/21995 * Closing Date:17 Sep 2021 APPLY NOW Description: We are team Iplex - were over 200 people strong and were highly passionate about delivering plastic pipeline systems in New Zealand as we work to become NZs leader of plastic building materials. We have team members working in manufacturing and distribution in Palmerston North, Christchurch and Ashburton, with our commercial head office based in Auckland. With an ongoing focus on supply chain excellence, Iplex Pipelines are looking for a National Logistics Manager based in our Palmerston North office. Reporting to our General Manager, you will play a key role within the senior leadership team and provide leadership, strategy and customer leading delivery services to our supply chain operations. This is a great role with heaps of potential to make it your own; its a small, high performing and passionate team. We also have a very strong relationship with our freight partner and weve had some real win-win initiatives with them over the past few years. Specific responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to; * The Development and implementation of an operational excellence service and delivery strategy * Build and maintain relationships with Freight providers to ensure quality and cost-efficient service delivery * Opportunities to optimise freight costs or service are identified and explored * Manage the negotiation, implementation and maintenance of supply agreements with emphasis beneficial outcomes. * Work with functional Managers to negotiate and establish Service Level Agreements and Supplier KPIs for sourced products and services. * Contribute to developing a business improvement plan identifying key business areas for targeted change. * Annual development and monthly execution of operational budgets In order to hit the ground running youll have; * Tertiary qualifications in Logistics or Supply Chain Management * 10+ years experience in a relevant field such as transportation or freight management * Strong commercial acumen and experience in the successful negotiation and management of supplier contracts. * Effective communication skills, able to deliver complex messages with confidence and clarity and be an analytical problem solver, able to identify, gather and evaluate information to resolve problems in a timely manner. * A belief that all injuries are preventable, you will be a strong safety leader able to coach their team to continually improve safety across the operation. * Ability to effectively lead remote teams In return we offer excellent benefits including the ability to gain further qualifications, health and income protection insurances, genuine progression opportunities along with a salary package commensurate with the position.
