Position Description:

Our client is Australia’s national advocacy group for public and not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare providers. Their vision is for a healthy Australia where everyone is supported by the best possible healthcare system. In this role you will work with a small vibrant team working collectively across four core pillars of activity: Research, Policy, Advocacy and Practice. Being a member with our client provides the opportunity to join a community of health sector thought leaders as they grow and shape Australia's health system.

They require a Membership Engagement Manager role to be responsible for all aspects of their membership engagement, retention, and recruitment.


  • Work collectively with the senior leadership team to recruit, maintain, and build membership
  • Understand members interests, concerns, and alignment to the client’s work
  • Undertake biennial horizon scanning to identify broader industry collaborations
  • Work collaboratively to deliver workshops and seminar series
  • Provide regular analysis of member engagements, workshop, and seminar evaluations
  • Design member surveys to inform future training and development activities
  • Liaise with industry bodies

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience working with membership organisation, demonstrating sound knowledge of attraction and retention strategies
  • Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of online platforms that enable delivery of workshop and seminar activity
  • Experience in membership engagement, training, and development
  • Experience in change management / quality improvement
  • Experience in adult learning / training accreditation practices (desirable)
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or public relations
