Job Description & Summary

A career in our Mergers and Acquisitions practice, within Deals Corporate Finance services, will provide you the opportunity to deliver innovative deal solutions to our clients, providing advice and support, from initiation through to deal completion. In short, we’re a part of helping some of the world’s leading companies across industries originate, create, execute, and realise value from deals. Through data driven insights we help our clients move in the right direction ensuring maximum value for their company.

Our team offers strategic advice to investors and companies undertaking mergers and acquisitions or investment opportunities. As part of our team, you’ll help our clients by providing client specific commercial insight, market and competitor overviews, and investment/divestment advice and modelling.

Job Description & Summary

With PwC, you’ll ignite a meaningful career while being supported by a flexible working culture, innovative learning and development opportunities and progressive policies and benefits, such as 18 weeks paid parental leave for mums, dads and foster carers (no minimum service!)

Our Mergers and Acquisitions team is seeking a self-motivated professional wishing to apply their knowledge and expertise to a range of challenging M&A matters.

What will you create?

You’ll help Australian businesses, not-for-profits and governments create value and improve the way they work. From digitising healthcare, to creating smarter cities and igniting our start-up industry, together we build trust in society and solve important problems.

Deals bring this to life by helping a diverse range of domestic and overseas businesses from deal-concept to deal-close. Made up by Corporate Finance, Transactions Value Advisory and Restructuring, each team offers data driven insights that enable clients to move in the right direction, ensuring maximum value for their company.

As a Manager in our M&A Lead Advisory team your impact will be seen by:

  • Leading the execution of sell-side, buy-side, origination, capital raising, strategic reviews, IPO’s and post-merger integration M&A activities

  • Influencing and contributing to the decision making of key senior stakeholders through presentations and communications on deals proposals and structures

  • Collaborating with specialists across a range of disciplines (such as legal, tax and transaction services) to deliver an integrated deals solution for our clients

  • Harnessing stakeholder relationships developed through transaction execution and strong deal flow to be a key part of the origination of further M&A activities

About you

You have a background in M&A lead advisory with transactions experience in a client-facing role. You may be looking to move from an investment bank, boutique consulting or corporate finance firm and want to combine the benefits of flexibility with engaging and complex M&A transactions. Negotiating and influencing outcomes for our clients, you’ll leverage your modelling and financial analysis skills and have strong business nous.

Passionate about being at the forefront of change, you’re ready to help our Deals team deliver innovative solutions to our clients, providing advice and support, from origination through to deal completion.

You’re collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment. You’re a problem solver by nature and want to join a firm that values the kind of people who reimagine the possible for their clients and stakeholders. Most importantly, you act with integrity and show care for the people you work with.

Life at PwC

Our culture and benefits are something we’re proud of, and also why we’re consistently named as one of Australia’s best workplaces. With PwC, you’ll belong to an inclusive community where differences are both embraced and the underlying driver in everything we create together.

We empower you with the technology, coaching, flexibility and trust needed to make a meaningful difference, while supporting you in bringing your whole self to work each day. We’re committed to building and maintaining a diverse workforce because we know it’s only by working together that we can realise the potential of our people, clients and society around us.

We’re living this commitment through initiatives including our Reconciliation Action Plan to increase Indigenous employment and employee-led diversity networks promoting cultural, disability, LGBTI and gender equality. At our core we’re a people business, which means you’ll be supported not just in your professional development but your personal growth as well.

Andy Maddison is the Recruitment Manager for the role. As the team experiences high volumes of applications, we appreciate your patience to allow for a timely and fair process for all.
