We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join Hays. This role supports our 900+ loyal clients. When you join Hays as the Health and Safety Manager, you will be leading a team culture that is committed to ensuring a safe working environment by promoting H&S initiatives, both internally and for our clients externally.
Your new role
The Health & Safety Manager in conjunction with the Head of Safety – ANZ will ensure that risks to our employees and temporary contractors are identified and effectively managed so far as is reasonably practicable. The Health & Safety Manager implements procedures within the Hays Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) and ensure the effective management and sustainable return to work of individuals who have sustained a work-related injury. As the Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of H&S plans in the region.
- Consult, cooperate and coordinate with clients, contractors and employees regarding the health and safety of workers and where necessary, develop and implement recommendations to improve H&S
- Record, investigate, escalate and report incidents, hazards, injuries or illnesses including investigating the root causes of incidents/accidents, developing corrective actions and following up with clients and temporary contractors on agreed actions to ensure they are completed in a timely manner
- Contribute to the continuous performance improvement of H&S across the region
- Attend relevant management meetings and provide necessary reports, advice and or direction if and where required
- Ensure that work related injuries are reported in a timely manner
- Manage and develop the Return-to-Work Coordinator and H&S Coordinator
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a hands-on Health and Safety Manager to join our team who has an appropriate level of qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of a Certificate IV in H&S (tertiary level desirable)
- Significant experience in the management of H&S
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of H&S legislation
- Current class C driver license
- Experience with a multi-site employer
- ICAM Investigation techniques (desirable)
