Working among an experienced HSE team, this Advisory role will give you the chance to bring your HSE experience that includes some Chemical/Dangerous Goods knowledge into this high-risk environment. This role requires strong skillset in building strong relationships with the operational frontlines and having the ability to be pragmatic and flexible in delivery of solutions. The business has long hours of operation, which on occasion will mean an early start or a late finish - for pre-starts, toolbox or similar. You will have good amount of autonomy and (much) variety in working with your sites (maybe adding more after an initial period), in part of Adelaide's industrial north and contribute to a national team of Health & Safety professionals.
One big advantage is having a great manager, which if you have a solid foundation/technical skillset, an operational background and a couple of years in a Health and Safety, who is prepared to mentor and grow you over time!!
To be successful you must bring:
- Experience in a relevant HSE Advisor role (ideally 5+ years). Applicants from a blue collar, high risk environments will be highly regarded
- Exposure to working in an environment where management of chemicals/Dangerous Goods was part of the role
- Experience working in a multi-site role and juggling competing priorities
- Effective communicator, able to communicate at all levels of the organisation
- A flexible and tenacious approach to stakeholders and the requirements of the role
- Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety - Diploma and above highly regarded
Critical to success will be your capacity to demonstrate agility, leadership and stakeholder management skills in a high risk business profile.
