About the role
Glencore Mount Isa Mines Operations has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Health Advisor (Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, Return to Work Counsellor, Nurse, Physiotherapist, etc) to join our HSEC team.  Reporting to the Senior Health Advisor, you will be part of the team facilitating return to work programs for employees, along with providing advice and assistance on injury, health and medical matters to operational personnel and management. According to business needs you will work either a 9 day fortnight, 5/2, 4/3 or a 5/2 roster with the option of flexi days.

This role promotes and facilitates proactive intervention measures to assist in early return to work of employees on health management plans and workers compensation, including providing comprehensive rehabilitation services with the development and implementation of rehabilitation programs and plans for workplace injuries. You will also be involved in case management services to support work-related and non-work related injuries and medical conditions. The ability to liaise and communicate effectively across multiple levels of the workforce, management, medical and allied health providers is critical to the success of this role.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in health/safety/occupational hygiene or similar tertiary qualification
  • Have graduated from university within the last 2 years
  • Has a keen understanding of medical terminology;
  • Has an understanding of Queensland Workers Compensation Legislation and associated health processes;
  • Is able to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Able to demonstrate a professional work standard, as well as a strong customer focus skills and a commitment to quality output; and
  • Is a systems thinker, goal orientated and highly organised, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.   

Other highly desirable experience, although not essential includes:

  • Practical experience in workplace rehabilitation and injury management
  • Previous experience in allied health or have industry experience.
