Your new role
Reporting to the manager, your day to day responsibilities will be to:
- Undertake spatial and other forms of data analysis to support the planning and implementation of the strategic fuel break and mechanical treatment program.
- Assist in the development of procedures and systems that support field assessment, mapping and survey tools to ensure the consistent capture of spatial operational data and information.
- Practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships and systems free from racism and discrimination so that people can feel safe, valued and able to participate.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in fire behaviour science, emergency management or hazard modelling and prediction. You will also have expertise in GIS SQL and either R or Python spatial databases and computer modelling would be highly desirable.
