About the role:
We are looking for Gas Distribution Apprentices to join us in a three year program that will enable you to obtain industry skills and knowledge while under the supervision of qualified and experienced Supervisors. Zinfra Apprentices are required to attend our registered training provider and complete a Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations. Submitting ongoing workplace evidence addressing the elements within the Gas Operations qualification is a requirement to obtain the Certificate III.
During the program, our Gas Distribution Apprentices will participate in face to face block training and workplace rotations, experiencing a variety of work environments within the gas supply industry to gain enhanced employment skills and career development opportunities. In this role Zinfra will support you work across a broad geographical range performing ongoing construction and maintenance works on our network.
You will be required to participate in a variety of field activities including:
- Repair and maintenance of high, medium and low pressure natural gas networks;
- Patrol and maintenance of pipeline right of ways;
- Strategic response to leak reports and other emergencies;
- Repair and maintenance of pipeline coatings, valves and mechanical equipment;
- Liaison with landholders and public authorities;
- A wide variety of duties including mechanical activities, weed control, erosion control, documentation and records maintenance.
To be considered for a Gas Distribution Apprenticeship you must have a drivers licence or plan to have obtained your licence by February 2021. This position would suit people that are effective communicators and those that are able to perform well in a collaborative team environment.
In addition to this we are looking for apprentices who show a mechanical aptitude, enjoy working outdoors and in a team, have a commitment to learning and a desire to progress their career at Zinfra.
Previous work experience aligned to this position will benefit your application but is not essential.
