Your New Company/Role:

As an established and reputable financial services organization that uses SAP, my client is looking for a Finance Officer/Finance Operations Representative to join their growing team, due to their remarkable track record and growth in their business. This is a 18 months fixed term contract position for the right candidate who is eager to grow in their career and within the finance industry. Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply as training will be provided - as long as you are driven and eager to learn! My client is potentially looking to hire 2 candidates due to the existing employees being internally promoted (endless opportunity within the organization in the long run).

About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:

Your primary focus will be to perform daily reconciliations whilst performing AR and AP duties. Reporting directly to the Finance Operations Team Leader who is nurturing and encourages professional growth to aid in your career progression, your main responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Daily reconciliation and resolving issues within agreed time frames for AP, AR and General Ledger accounts
  • Processing bank deposit allocations accurately
  • Perform AP duties - data entry & processing EFT payments
  • Ensuring payments are authorised in accordance with delegation authority
  • Maintaining the Master Vendor/Supplier database
  • Treasury back office settlements
  • Resolve internal and external customer issues
  • Implement continuous improvements
  • Involved and trained in all finance operations team tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with audit and SOX requirements

Ideal Profile

This opportunity is for someone who has intermediate accounting knowledge within an accounting background. You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance or similar area
  • Prior experience (6 months or >) or no experience is fine
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle work with accountability
  • Eager to learn
  • Team player
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency - Pivot tables, Vlookups
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have valid visa - Permanent Residents and Citizens highly encouraged to apply (if 485 must be valid for the next 18 months) - (bridging visa will not be accepted)
