Job Title: Facilities Engineer

Location: National Distribution Centre, Trafford Park, Manchester

Overall Purpose of the Job

To ensure the provision of an effective Maintenance Service to the business and support the implementation of strategic and operational plans.

Providing professional support to the Facilities Manager with specific responsibility for all aspects of the basic maintenance provision.

Provide maintenance and planning expertise to assess, prepare and co-ordinate work schedules within area of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as required
  • Monitor the Facilities workflow including third party portal for Logistics & Engineering
  • Provide timely updates on work order status
  • Check and validate the Permit to Work for contactors and verification of compliance
  • Create and document Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work for jobs
  • Ensure jobs are completed to an agreed standard
  • Contractor engagement and coordination
  • Deputise for Facilities Manager during absence
  • Create and manage Management Information (MI) Reports
  • Check and validate invoices
  • On board suppliers

Required Skills

Essential:-

  • Experience with plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair and painting
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are maintained and improved, if necessary
  • Good Investigative and error spotting skills
  • Should be good at communication and able to work independently without constant supervision, managing own time and resource effectively
  • Practical ability in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ensures repairs are completed efficiently and are in accordance with Safe Systems of Work, Industry Best Practice and Health & Safety Legislation
  • Experience working in commercial properties
  • Capable of prioritising urgent projects and working in a challenging work environment
  • Work extended hours at short notice when required, being flexible towards working patterns and locations

Desirable:-

Full Driving Licence
