About the Roles

We are seeking expressions of interest for the following positions:

Sous Chef

As the second in Charge of the restaurant kitchen, the Sous Chef has many overarching responsibilities. The Sous Chef is responsible for planning and directing how food is presented on the plate, keeping kitchen staff in line and making sure that all food that goes to our customers is of the best quality to maintain Discovery Parks high standards.

Essential Skills

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • 5 + years in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Exceptional cooking skills and delivery of service
  • Knowledge of current Workplace Health and Safety Regulations
  • Detailed knowledge of all kitchen operations
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina

Food & Beverage Supervisors

The Food & Beverage Supervisor has overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the Restaurant to ensure that consistent superior guest focus at the forefront of all activities. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will manage, train and coordinate the work of all Food & Beverage staff.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of two years experience in similar position
  • Excellent understanding of the hospitality industry with particular regard to motels and Resort restaurant and banquet facilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills with particular emphasis on relationships to guests, staff and management, including personal presentation, communication, social skills and team work
  • Barista skills and RSA certification

Venue Managers

The primary duty of the Venue Manager is to oversee all operations of Thomsons/Pinkies Restaurant. This includes the management of all staff, the oversight of all procedures and the troubleshooting of any problems.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in event management, business, hospitality or related field of study is preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in guest service, event and venue management
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in supervisory or management role


A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience.
