Job Summary

AECOM has a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to take on the leadership of our Queensland Energy business and drive the growth and development of our team in Brisbane. Lead a team in delivering some of Australia’s most important transformational energy projects across transmission, distribution, renewables and future fuels sectors.

This is a unique opportunity to take the next step in your career. You will be responsible for leading the team, as well as the driving the future direction of the Energy business in Queensland. As a senior member of our organisation, you will provide technical and operational leadership whilst driving and enabling team success through business growth, maintaining and developing key client relationships and quality of service. You will provide the team with purpose, helping our people pursue opportunities, reach their potential, and create high performance through coaching, mentoring and your leadership.

This role will see you taking responsibility for business development, project delivery as well as leading and running your own portfolio of diverse projects.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the development, resourcing, planning and growth of the Energy Team

  • Participate in business development activities and preparation of proposals

  • Assist in work planning and development of your team

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership

  • Deliver design services and advice

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement

Minimum Requirements

  • Significant experience in relevant transmission, distribution, renewables and/or future fuels sectors

  • Experience in design and project delivery

  • Experience working within a top tier design consultancy environment highly advantageous

  • Experience in leading a team in a management role or on complex multi-disciplinary projects

We are looking for an innovative and influential leader who is highly knowledgeable of, and has a demonstrated history in, the energy market for consulting services, particularly in Queensland. You will have experience leading and running energy components of major projects and experience working on transmission, distribution and generation across a broad range of sectors.

To be part of this dynamic and growing team we are looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm, who has a passion for innovation and providing high quality solutions to our clients. You will be a hands-on leader, offering both technical and professional leadership on projects. Previous experience leading a geographically dispersed team with a flexible working approach will be an advantage in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications (electrical, power or similar) and consulting experience are a must. CPEng, RPEQ registration preferred.
