Electrical Co-ordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contractor Coordinator – Electrical, to coordinate Contractors engaged by the Client to undertake Electrical / Instrumentation maintenance works and minor capital projects at the Alcoa Wagerup Alumina Refinery.

The Electrical Co-ordinator represents the Client and is responsible for the following coordination and management activities:

  • Manages controls and forecasts budgeting activities and preparation of detailed work scopes and packages of work for tendering purposes
  • Administration of contracts including conducting weekly progress meetings with contractors and/or contracted service providers, managing scope changes within approved contract variations
  • Inspections to ensure that work is performed according to approved plans, drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules and EH&S standards
  • Inspect and reports on installations and alterations of work to assure that approved materials are used and the quality of workmanship
  • Directs and verifies corrections on items that are not in compliance
  • Observes and validates tests of installations, equipment, and materials and completion of ITP for each work package
  • Co-ordinates the worksite access between contractor(s) and operations, inclusive of isolation and other permitting requirements
  • Co-ordination of and reporting on all aspects of assigned projects / services, including co-ordination between contractors
  • Monitors the application of labour, materials and equipment
  • Planning, scheduling and co-ordination of shutdowns, tie-ins and commissioning and associated interfaces between contractors and operations

In order to thrive in this position, the following attributes are highly valued:

  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years relevant experience in a Senior Supervisor or Superintendent level.
  • Sound technical knowledge.
  • Capacity to manage multiple contracts and work scopes simultaneously
  • A Grade Electrical Licence is an essential
  • HV Switching Certificate is an essential
  • Relevant trade or technical qualification
  • Alumina Industry experience is an advantage
  • Cert IV in Project Management is preferable
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel confidently
  • Living within commuting distance to the refinery is preferable
