As a result of a range of projects wins and an increasing pipeline of infrastructure work across the region, the AECOM Water Resources & Coastal Management Team in Brisbane has multiple opportunities for experienced Drainage Engineers to be part of the continued growth of our business.
Working at AECOM means working closely with engineers and scientists of varying backgrounds, along with drafters, and project administrators on some of the most exciting projects in the region. We are currently helping to deliver large infrastructures projects such as multiple packages of Inland Rail, RIS for Cross River Rail, M1 upgrades at Palm Beach to Tugun, Edmonton to Gordonvale, and Gold Coast Light Rail stage 3.
As a Drainage Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical engineering and design support in the area of drainage and hydrology for civil infrastructure projects across road, rail and aviation. You will be given the opportunity to actively participate in and contribute to the technical aspects of a range of projects so that they are consistently and successfully delivered according to plan.
3-8 years’ industry experience in a similar role – essential;
Knowledge of TMR Drainage Manual, AR&R and QUDM – highly advantageous;
Experience in hydrological studies and detailed hydraulic designs of stormwater and drainage infrastructure such as drains and culverts;
Experience in designing open and piped drainage systems, and erosion and sediment control;
Knowledge of detailed road and rail designs, and multidisciplinary interfaces;
Drainage analysis and design software technology applications (e.g. 12D, DRAINS, HECRAS, Culvert Master, Civil 3D etc.);
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Environmental), or equivalent – essential.
CPEng status with Engineers Australia and RPEQ status with Board of Professional Engineers Queensland (or working towards)
Experience with 12d design software – essential.
Experience with Civil3D design software – desirable.
