PlanCost Australia is an established quantity surveying consultancy providing cost planning, construction cost management, value management and tender assessment services across a range of building and construction projects.
The company is currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor for a permanent full-time position in Ringwood, VIC. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing construction cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, assessing variations and providing accurate financial reporting throughout different stages of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, specifications and project documentation to estimate construction costs.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, elemental cost plans and project budgets.
- Measuring construction quantities and preparing bills of quantities for tender documentation.
- Evaluating tenders, analysing contractor submissions and preparing cost comparison reports.
- Monitoring project expenditure and forecasting costs throughout construction.
- Assessing design changes, measuring and valuing variations and determining their financial impact.
- Preparing progress payment assessments, cash flow forecasts and financial reports.
- Reviewing construction costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings and value management.
- Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and clients regarding project costs and budgets.
- Preparing final account assessments and maintaining accurate project cost records.
About You
- Relevant bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, cost planning and quantity measurement.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience preparing cost estimates, tender documentation and financial reports.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional team.
