Senior Business Analyst

The Role:

As a business analyst you will be part of an Agile team, working in cooperation with the development team, testing team, the product owner and product manager. One of the key roles is to support the product owner with the decision-making process so that they continue to focus on the product goal and the roadmap. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating documents and artefacts.

You will be required to operate under limited direction, and will contribute to project planning, scheduling, and achievement of outcomes. They will demonstrate sound decision-making, initiative, and judgement. 

Key duties and responsibilities

• Identify and analyse problems, defining business rules, and requirements.
• Assist with the creation and prioritisation of backlog items, including developing acceptance criteria.
• Upskill/mentor junior staff.
• Experience in Government settings.
• Knowledge of user-centric design and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• Engages in an iterative and incremental project lifecycle, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities throughout the development process.
• Focuses on lightweight documentation.
• Embraces change and is adaptable to evolving requirements, with the ability to reprioritise and adjust focus in response to customer feedback and shifting business needs.
• Encourages frequent and continuous customer collaboration throughout the development process, with regular feedback sessions and demonstrations.
• Emphasises collaboration and teamwork, often working closely with cross-functional teams that include developers, testers, and other stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required:

1. demonstrated experience previously providing the Requirement (Role Description, and Key Duties & Responsibilities)

2. demonstrated capability and capacity to provide the Requirement (Role Description, and Key Duties & Responsibilities)

3. demonstrated understanding of the Requirement (Role Description, and Key Duties & Responsibilities)

Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT. Contract till June 2027 with 1 x 12-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval. 

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance is required.
