Operational Technology Technician

Golding is currently recruiting for an Operational Technology (OT) Technician at Meandu Mine, located near Kingaroy. 

This position is offered as a DIDO or residential role on a Lifestyle Roster (5/4 4/5 5/5) Dayshift only.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, uptime, and performance of site OT systems across heavy mobile equipment, draglines and site infrastructure.
• Perform installation and commissioning and troubleshooting of OT hardware, data flow, network connectivity and backhaul networking infrastructure as required (from generating device through to database and presentation layer)
• Execute work orders and complete all maintenance administration in a timely manner, ensuring strict compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act/Regulation and relevant standards
• Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
• Maintain OT/IT network segregation, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of repeater stations, trailers, and RTK network.
• Ensure power sources (solar, generator, mains) are functioning and reliable for OT, including Mine Control Operator workstations and peripheral devices / systems.
• Record and maintain site-specific OT system details for access by broader Plant, Golding IT and OT teams.
• Proactively identify existing and emerging end user issues and requirements and make appropriate recommendations to your Manager for system wide improvements.

 
Capability Requirements

• Certificate III in Electronics and Communications and or Qld Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate ( or Australian state/territory equivalent) or other relevant trade/tertiary qualification.
• Current Drivers Licence
• Current Standard 11
• Current Coal Board Medical (or ability to pass)
• High level of initiative with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively
• Well-developed communication skills demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with site operations, maintenance teams, the mine owner and OEM vendors
• Demonstrated ability to solve multiple complex technical matters simultaneously

Highly Regarded

• Proven experience with field-based OT hardware, communications infrastructure (including radios, mesh network and solar-powered systems), and Fleet Management Systems 
• Experience in coal mining operations in Australia 
• Specific experience interfacing OT networks with heavy mobile equipment, infrastructure and digital two-way communications
• Experience in Wenco, Mineware Argus and Pegasys, FMS and payload systems
