- Lead a team of three Purchasing Officers in a manufacturing environment.
- Negotiate supplier terms and manage supply chain challenges.
- Contribute to SAP S/4HANA upgrade and improve purchasing processes.
- Lead an established team of three, with room to grow your supply chain career.
- Base salary + super + a performance bonus targeted at 20% of base.
- Purpose-built Kemps Creek facility. Onsite gym, rooftop terrace and parking.
Build relationships. Keep production moving. Make your mark.
You know purchasing doesn’t happen in isolation.
A supplier changes a lead time. Production needs an answer. The warehouse needs an update.
You’re the person who brings everyone together and works out what happens next.
And when there’s a better way to do things? You’ll have the opportunity to put it into practice.
About The Opportunity
Reporting to the National Supply Chain Manager, you’ll take ownership of the Australian purchasing function, leading three experienced Purchasing Officers who know their stuff.
You’ll have a strong team behind you and a manager who understands the role firsthand. He’s done it himself, progressing from Purchasing Manager into his current national position.
Your focus? Keeping materials flowing, building dependable supplier relationships and making purchasing decisions that balance cost, quality and availability.
From negotiating commercial terms to working through supply challenges with production, technical and warehouse teams, you’ll stay close to the operation. You’ll also look ahead, identifying supply risks, improving processes and finding opportunities to get more value from the supplier network.
There’s plenty happening on the systems side, too. With an SAP S/4HANA upgrade ahead, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the project, deepen your expertise and build connections across the wider international business.
The Business
An established global manufacturer of specialist building products, with a new, purpose-built home in Kemps Creek.
Think onsite parking, a gym and a rooftop terrace for a change of scenery over lunch.
But the appeal goes beyond the facilities.
You’ll join a business where people work closely across departments, managers understand family commitments and career development has real examples behind it.
Alongside your base salary and super, there’s an annual performance bonus targeted at 20% of base, linked to company performance and individual goals you’ll help shape.
You’ll be onsite initially, getting to know the people, products and operation. There may be scope to explore hybrid working once you’re established.
About You
You’ve spent time in manufacturing, so you understand what happens when a material doesn’t arrive, a supplier falls short or a product can’t simply be swapped for another.
You bring at least five years’ purchasing or procurement experience, including experience leading a team. You’re comfortable setting direction, supporting your people and taking responsibility when things need sorting.
SAP experience is essential. Ideally, you’ve worked with Materials Management (MM), and you’re confident using the system to investigate issues, pull reports and help your team work through problems.
You know your way around supplier negotiations, inventory and purchasing data. Just as importantly, you keep people informed. Production, warehouse, finance and suppliers know where things stand because you follow through.
Your manufacturing background could be in building products, FMCG or another sector. It’s your understanding of how purchasing connects with the wider operation that will count.
