SA Dental Service has clinics across a range of metropolitan and country locations.
As a dentist you will utilise your high level of clinical competence and provide general and emergency oral health care to eligible clients of the SA Dental Service. Assessing clients presenting with dental diseases and oral health problems, you will provide referral to dental specialists for care outside the scope of a generalist dentist when required. This will include giving mentoring and advice to less experienced dental operators, and may also include opportunities to supervise and teach undergraduate students for dentists interested in this option. Working for us, you will be able to experience real job satisfaction as you make a significant difference to the oral health of children and eligible adults. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of population and public oral health planning and services, in addition to enjoying flexible working arrangements.
You will need to have registration or be eligible to register as a Dentist with the Dental Board of Australia through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency [Please note - registration under the PSDWS will no longer be available as from 1/1/20].
You will need to demonstrate clinical competence in provision of general dental services and be an effective problem solver who can help meet the needs of clients and bring the ability to communicate effectively with patients and all levels of staff. In addition to a demonstrated understanding of the Dental Practice Guidelines and Standards and Ethical Code of Conduct, you will be committed to working as part of a clinical team and will work well with other health professionals.
