About the Role
In this 6 month contract role as Network Engineer, you will provide onsite and offsite network support for our clients’ environments. As Contract Network Engineer you are expected to provide exceptional levels of service and assistance to rectify and solve issues as they are reported. This support will be provided via phone and email support, remote access support and most importantly by face to face and direct contact support.
What you’ll do
As Contract Network Engineer, you will be responsible but not limited to:
- Support customer network environment/s
- Establish and nurture relationships with appropriate staff both within Datacom and our clients
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to more junior staff
- Perform reporting duties
- Liaise with Professional services and Sales Teams
- Perform 24x7 On Call duties on a roster basis.
You’ll have the opportunity to continue developing your expertise in working with technologies including Routing, Switching, Firewalls, VPN & Remote access, VoIP, WLAN, Load Balancers, WAN.
You will have the opportunity to be exposed to the latest in technology and to continue learning as we introduce new services and products for our clients.
What you’ll bring
You will have a broad, comprehensive knowledge of and experience implementing Network Infrastructure. With at least 3 years’ experience working in a Network Engineering role, you will bring hands-on exposure to switching, routing, firewalls and load balancing. You will also understand and have worked within an IT managed services, ITIL environment. Qualifications such as CCNA as a minimum are required, along with sound communication, relationship-building and prioritisation skills.
Knowledge of the following tools is desirable:
- CA Spectrum
- Advanced knowledge of Visio and documentation.
