The Role

  • Authorise construction planning, programming and completion schedules
  • Authorise engagement of subcontractors, management of subcontractor work to achieve outcomes, and all major subcontract variations
  • Assist in the implementation, monitoring and review of a construction management plan
  • Monitor progress, ensuring that work quality and techniques are of a high standard and report regularly on project performance, and cost against company objectives
  • Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained
  • People management: Establish and develop a high-performance team to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets
  • Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with business’s authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
  • Conduct onsite property assessments to obtain damage and cause information
  • Compile and create detailed reports, accurate scopes of works and quotes
  • Build and maintain key sub-contractor relationships, including building surveyor, engineers and local authorities to assist with the technical aspects of your role
  • Obtain quotes and competitive prices from suppliers and contractors
  • Arrange and attend site tender meetings with contractors relevant to the project
  • Supervise and inspect repairs to ensure compliance with required legislation.
  • Conduct periodic quality and spot checks on trades

  • Proven experience in an Estimating role
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Relevant qualification and at least of 2 years of relevant working experiences
