Clinical Nurse (School Based Youth Health Nurse) Townsville The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia; we are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research within a region covering over 149,500km with a population of approximately 250,000 people. The School Based Youth Health Nurse program is centred on early intervention, harm minimisation and prevention. The purpose of the Clinical Nurse is to support and enhance the capacity of state schools with secondary students to develop structures and environments that promote the health and wellbeing of young people and to provide secondary school aged young people with access to a limited primary health care service within the school, including opportunities to access health information, advice, support, brief intervention, and referral through confidential individual health consultations. About your opportunity This role works autonomously within the Health and Wellbeing Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivery of Youth Health specialist nursing care utilising the social model of health and applying the principles of primary health care within the secondary school setting. Role Requirements: * Possession of Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is mandatory for this position. * Possession of registration with AHPRA. * Possession of postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position are highly desirable. * This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate: this may include criminal history checks, aged care checks, working with children checks, NDIS checks or corrective services checks and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role compliance. New employees to Queensland Health and existing temporary or casual employees moving into permanent roles may be required to undergo a period of probation. COVID-19 vaccination requirements: It is a condition of employment for all prospective and existing health service employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, having received the first dose by the 30 September 2021 and having received the second dose by the 31 October 2021 as per Health Employment Directive 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70. Generous remuneration package value up to $115,848 p.a. comprising salary range of $94,545 to $101,237 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
