The Alexander bar and bistro, Ballajura

 The Alexander bar and bistro is the busiest restaurant in Ballajura is looking for a full time experienced chef to join the friendly team. This role would be perfect for a chef/cook with previous work experience in a similar role and looking to move forward in their career. We are looking for the right candidate having positive work attitude, ethics and initiative. 
 

Chef Duties and responsibilities:
 
  • Prepare season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required.

     
  • Analyse recipes to assign price to menu items,based on food, labor and overhead cost.

     
  • Must follow recipes and presentation specifications.

     
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

     
  • Clean and organising kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.

     
  • Carrying out service under instruction of the Head Chef and other senior Chefs, rotating between stations throughout the weeks.

     
  • Directing kitchen assistants during service and preparations.

     
  • Maintain sanitation practice after using bench.

     
  • Must label food items with date time and initials of person completed the job.

     
  • Determine production schedule necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.

     
  • Recruit and hire cooks and other kitchen workers.

     
  • Checking quality of food stored in the Cool room, fridges and freezers while monitoring the temperatures on daily basis.

     
  • Organizing dry stock area weekly and listing the stock need to order.

     
  • Liaise with manager regarding any repair of item or changes in the menu.

     
  • Good communication skills in negotiating and going through he prices of food items.


    Requirements 

  • At least 2 year of minimum experience required as hand on experience. 

     
  • minimun cert 3 in commercial cookery required.

     
 

Salary

 Right candidate chosen will be offer $ 55,000 - $ 60,000 a year plus super.
