Full job description

The Raw Prawn restaurant in Cairns is looking for 2 skilled full time Chefs with at least two years experience who is hardworking and organised. The Raw Prawn is a locally owned and operated restaurant that has been proudly serving its customers since 2000.

Work experience – Minimum 2 years 

Qualifications – Diploma of Hospitality

Salary: Base Salary $55,000, and be eligible for future promotion.

Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation and cooking, plating, presentation
  • Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
  • Menu planning, budgeting and estimate food requirements
  • Following food safety requirements
  • Check quality of ingredients and quality of dishes
  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
  • Kitchen maintenance and cleaning
  • May recruit and train staff

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
