Calculations Officer

Your new company
This Big 4 Consultancy firm are interested to hear from reliable, organised and hard-working individuals to join their calculations team, working on a financial services remediation project based at their financial services clients. These teams will work in a target-driven environment where being able to work with a high level of accuracy to prescribed processes and to strict deadlines is a prerequisite. The teams are primarily dedicated to assisting financial institutions with their issues in respect of financial instruments with a specific focus on valuations and quantification of financial consequences as a result of inappropriate financial advice. The role may also require the design and development of ad-hoc tools on behalf of our clients to deliver complex calculations.

Your new role
A Calculations Officer will be required to:

• Understand a calculation methodology used to compensate customer issues
• Take ownership of the collation the financial information relevant to producing the calculation
• A thorough understanding of finance and the ability to problem-solve
• Prioritise daily personal workload to ensure a high quality deliverable is provided in a timely fashion
• Provide ad-hoc support as required by the calculations officers
• Working as a member of a team to ensure personal and team objectives and service standards are consistently achieved
• Liaise with key client contact regarding logistical matters

What you'll need to succeed

• You will have a relevant degree (Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Banking)
• You will need a minimum of 2 years experience within Finance or Financial Services
• Experience in a Calculations role within Remediation is highly advantageous
• You will have a solid knowledge of Excel and possess strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• In order to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate powerful quantitative/mathematical capability, strong attention-to detail, organisational skills and business acumen
