APS 5/6 Treasury Officer

About Our Client

This is a close-knit team in a diverse and exciting department that provides services to the Parliament and Commonwealth public sector entities. The department crosses a wide range of industries with offices all over Australia, as well as maintaining relationships with international organisations and trading partners. They are seeking an accomplished, passionate, and skilled Treasury Officer to join the team.

Job Description

• Achieve specific goals, objectives, and deadlines within the limits of the resources available
• Ensure proactive monitoring, reporting and escalation of financial risks with recommendations to address
• Completing the daily consolidated Revenue fund, AR receipting and Payment runs processes to provide the Department's bank statements and files for loading into Tech One
• Prepare the daily EFT schedule and payment files
• Prepare the daily receipts and process into CBMS when complete
• Process end-of-month reconciliations
• Follow up on all rejected payments, liaising with various areas of the Department as well as external organisations to ensure timely payment of the rejects

The Successful Applicant

• Current baseline security clearance
• Treasury processing experience is a mandatory requirement (minimum 1 year). Prefer current experience, but willing to consider those with lengthy previous experience
• Basic to advanced understanding of appropriations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with stakeholders and internal teams
• Highly motivated with a proven record of successful achievement
• SAP or Tech One experience is desired but not essential
