Your new company is a Local Council based in Melbourne’s South East of Victoria
The team have a requirement for a new Animal Management/Local Laws Officer to join and support them in keeping up with their increased workload. You will be working through Hays Recruitment on a temporary contract
Your new role
Your duties on a daily basis will predominately be working as an Animal Management Officer including all or some of tasks listed below:
- handle animals in a confident and safe manner
- reactive and proactive patrols
- animal collections and pet registration
- report instances of overhanging vegetation, hard rubbish, abandoned vehicles, litter
- school crossings supervision
- and other general local laws duties.
What you'll need to succeed
Having previously worked for a Local Council in an animal management role, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to handle animals in a confident and safe manner. You will have conducted numerous animal pick-ups (wandering and contained animals) and will ideally have had exposure to dog attack investigations.
You will have worked in an animal management role for 1/2 years and/or have successfully completed a Cert IV Animal Control & Regulation (or equivalent).
