HammondCare Volunteers

0 job vacancy

Throughout its history, HammondCare has been highly independent. HammondCare works with all denominations but is not owned by any. This enables us to be flexible and means that we are able to move anywhere to meet an identified need. We are also innovative in our approach to health and aged care and in the services we provide – we seek to lead rather than follow.

Mission

HammondCare remains strongly and intrinsically Christian. HammondCare stands for compassion as clearly seen and heard in the Gospel records of the life of Jesus and his challenging words in Matthew 25:

"I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome, naked and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me... whenever you did this to one of the least of my brothers and sisters, you did it to me."

Charity

HammondCare has always been a charity. While needs have changed over the years, HammondCare has and will continue to focus on those who need our help. Like the good Samaritan we cannot "walk on the other side". We cannot ignore or decline to do things because they are too hard, or they involve risk, or they are unprofitable. We continue to be risk takers for those whose lives are at risk.

Our motivation

The work of HammondCare is motivated by Christian principles and values expressed in the words and deeds of Jesus Christ. HammondCare believes in the value of all people as made in the image of God and as loved by God. We are therefore called to show the same love, with compassionate and respect, for people in need.
