Rail Projects Victoria (RPV), formerly known as Melbourne Metro Rail Authority, is the Victorian Government body responsible for delivery of the Metro Tunnel, Regional Rail Revival, Fast Rail to Geelong, and the future Melbourne Airport Rail Link. The Metro Tunnel Project will let more trains run in and out of the city by giving the Cranbourne / Pakenham and Sunbury lines their own tunnel through the CBD.

The Metro Tunnel Project scope includes five new underground stations, with two new city stations directly connected to Flinders Street and Melbourne Central. New High Capacity Trains will run through the Metro Tunnel, freeing up more trains across the Melbourne rail network. For more information, visit https://metrotunnel.vic.gov.au

The $1.75 billion Regional Rail Revival program is a joint initiative of the Australian and Victorian governments to upgrade every regional passenger train line in Victoria. Projects include:

· Ballarat Line Upgrade
· Bendigo & Echuca Line Upgrade
· Geelong Line Upgrade
· Gippsland Line Upgrade
· North East Line Upgrade
· Shepparton Corridor Upgrade
· Warrnambool Line Upgrade

Melbourne Airport Rail will connect Melbourne Airport to all metropolitan and regional lines via Sunshine. Planning and development is already underway with Rail Projects Victoria engaging in expert technical and commercial advisers for the project.

RPV is an Administrative Office established in relation to the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, overseen by the Office of the Coordinator General.
