Essential Services Commission

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria’s independent economic regulator of services offered by the energy, water, transport and local government industries. Our aim is to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the state’s economy and protect the long-term interests of consumers.

We also administer the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme, which aims to reduce greenhouse gases by making energy efficiency improvements more affordable for consumers.
