EPA Victoria (EPA) is an independent statutory authority under the Environment Protection Act 2017. The Act defines EPA’s powers, duties and functions, and provides a framework for the prevention and control of air, land and water pollution, industrial noise and waste.
Our job is to keep Victoria prosperous and livable by preventing and reducing harm from pollution and waste. We do this in several ways, including by holding polluters to account, and helping people to understand, own and address their harmful impacts on the environment.
