About This Opportunity

We are currently seeking candidates with a qualification in one of the following areas Social Work, Sociology, Behavioural Science, Psychology or other relevant field to join the team and provide students with assistance and support through all aspects of student life. This includes advice on financial assistance, accommodation and health and well-being related issues.

This role will also develop and guide students with a disability or medical condition to optimise their learning experiences during their studies. The position will work as part of a larger team in Student Services, Faculties and other service providers to give students assistance with transitional and adjustment issues so that they can achieve their academic and personal goals through individual appointments or group programs.

Services are delivered across the St. Lucia, Gatton and Herston campuses.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will hold a qualification in one of the following areas Social Work, Sociology, Behavioural Science or Psychology, as well as at least four years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. As well as one of the following

Ability to develop and present strategies to assist students with a disability to be actively engaged with their studies and strive to be independent learners

Experience in planning, designing and conducting support programs and materials in response to the specific needs of students

You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.

What We Can Offer

This is a Casual position at HEW level 7.

The Casual hourly rate will be in the range $55.27 - $60.37, plus super of up to 9.5%.
