The Hospital:

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated state-wide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quaternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be covering a part-time Maternity Leave absence. Working two days per week, he/she will be required to work within the RCH Pharmacy Department’s Outpatients/Dispensary area, to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to both RCH inpatients and outpatients, and to undertake numerous other tasks, as directed. Some future tweaking to workdays and hours may be possible.

Good communication and a strong liaison will be needed with all pharmacy and with specialist nursing and medical staff.

Further participation in all pharmacy department work and contribution to pharmacy patient services is expected, possibly including on-call and weekend work allocation.

To be successful in this role you will have:

AHPRA registration, as a pharmacist able to practice in Australia
Good patient and customer relation skills
Hospital pharmacy (Australian or similar) experience
Enthusiasm and the ability to work and undertake a wide range of pharmacy tasks

Knowledge and experience with paediatric pharmacy services will be highly regarded.
