Support Worker Duties and Responsibilities.

Take case notes, collect relevant data, and maintain adequate records about the client’s progress.
Emotionally support clients by engaging in conversations and actively listening to their concerns.
Help with the client’s domestic tasks, including cooking, budgeting, and shopping.
Accompany clients to meetings with other healthcare facilities or agencies
Work with the families of clients to educate them about proper support for the client.
Deliver programs designed to help clients to achieve their goals.
Advise the Team Leader if support other than that described in the support plan appears necessary
Report to the Team Leader any changes observed in the client, the home’s safety or other relevant aspects of the home environment
Promote safety by following organisational OHS requirements and guidelines
Communicate respectfully with all individuals including clients, representatives, staff and the community

Support Worker Requirements and Qualifications

Qualifications in Aged Care and/or Disability Services, or a related field.
First Aid certificate & CPR training.
Current Driver’s Licence with own transport.
Car Insurance comprehensive cover.
Knowledge of standards and requirements in the support work field.
Service-oriented with a passion for helping people
Ability to build strong relationships and gain trust
Empathetic approach, a non-judgmental attitude, and a willingness to be patient with an emphasis on active listening and Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Physical ability to complete domestic duties
The ability to work in high-pressure situations
Time management skills and the willingness to prioritize the needs of many clients.
Ability to work in a team and independently
Entry level are welcome & an experience is a plus in a similar role.
Successful applicants will need to complete a Police Check for Disabled and a Working with Children Check.
