An opening exists to join a leading Engineering firm consisting of a highly skilled team of analysts that provide networking solutions to Australia.

Location: Melbourne, VIC
Length: 3-4 Days/week (flexible)
Duration: 12 weeks

Client & opportunity:
Our client is an IT firm specialising in a range of Technical Services, aiming to deliver expert, reliable and cost-effective solutions.

Job Duties: (You will be given training of the following but should have basic knowledge of the same.)

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)Work with WordPress and other CMS.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Skills Required:

Understanding of networking protocols
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
University degree/ Diploma in Computer Science or a related subject.
An ability to prioritise work and complete tasks with quick turnaround times and minimal fuss;
The ability to work collaboratively with a team.
