This is an exciting opportunity to join their growing team in Abbotsford, Melbourne. Reporting to the Managing Director, this position title and salary will be dependent on the successful candidate's level of experience. Please note that this position requires flexibility and a genuine willingness to help other company staff as required.

You can expect this position to be very hands on and responsible for all matters related to product portfolio management, testing and approval, planning and realisation of Australian product variants, product sales forecasting, technical and installation advice and managing after sales parts service.

Hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

Our client is a well-known International Sanitary Ware Company and seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Product and technical manager.

Description

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

* Assist customers with product, technical and installation enquiries by phone, email and walk-in
* Build rapport and manage relationships with the outsourced technical service company and provide support in difficult service cases
* Verify if warranty claim cases are genuine
* Keep up to date with product and market trends and changes in regulation to anticipate, plan and influence the development of the Australian product portfolio
* Ensure timely WaterMark, WELS and other compliance testing, approvals and renewal are completed
* Provide product and technical training to company staff as required (including assisting sales team with technical presentations)
* Perform market and competitor research on relevant new product categories and relay Australian variant and assortment requirements to HQ Product Managers
* Work with marketing to evaluate business opportunities and to plan successful market introductions for new products
* Manage routine maintenance and major rectifications of office and showroom facilities

Profile

The successful candidate will:

* Have excellent knowledge and competent with local technical adaptations and compliance requirements and ensure all products supplied into the market are sufficient
* Hold relevant education or qualification (preferable)
* Experience in product management is very important
* Demonstrate good customer service with friendly and approachable manner
* Have at least 5 years' experience in bathroom segment and highly competent technically
* Be familiar with industry standards and compliance
* Bring existing contacts with testing labs and approval authorities (very beneficial)

Job Offer

This role will commence at the end of November/ beginning of December for the right candidate.
