The Opportunity

Reporting to Investment Program Director the Investment Program Manager Minor Capital Works is responsible for leading, directing and oversighting a significant and diverse portfolio of Minor Capital Works (projects with an estimated total cost of up to $1m) across TAFE NSW regions in order to meet strategic planning objectives, ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations, and improve project delivery capability and outcomes.

Within this role you will lead five Assistant Program Managers and oversee the delivery of the Minor Capital Works Program to ensure that outcomes align with the originating brief, meet stakeholder expectations and customer requirements and that all delivery phases of projects are completed within budget, time, quality, safety and compliance standards.

You will be responsible for robust governance in the Minor Works process and provide detailed program level reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full time temporary term for 36 months located at one of our campuses in Ultimo, Penrith, Wollongong, Orange, Coffs Harbour or Bathurst.

About you

You will be a confident leader, managing and coordinating the delivery of projects in the Minor Capital Works Infrastructure Program through the internal program management team and contractual arrangements with external consultants to achieve objectives within required time and costs constraints. Key to your success will be your ability to manage complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations across project teams with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, whilst simultaneously managing their at times conflicting expectations and interests.

Your exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, will assist you in managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with a diverse range of stakeholders. You have a focus on continuous improvement and will design and implement strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of projects.

Additional Requirements:

1. Degree qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Program Management, Project Management or a related field with significant experience.
2. At least 5-7 years of experience leading and managing multiple projects at portfolio or program level in the delivery of complex major capital works programs in an infrastructure related field.
3. Demonstrated high level stakeholder management skills to positively engage and collaborate on program/project management strategies.
4. Strong track record of proactively resolving complex project planning issues to successfully achieve integrated and coordinated delivery.
